What is an Index?
An index gives the reader an informative, but subjective overview of what is in a book and a concise, alphabetical guide to all of the most important subjects in the book. These terms, organized to form a list of main headings and subheadings, will include both proper names and subjects and the locations (page numbers) where they appear in the book.
An index bridges the gap between the reader and the text. A finished text is vastly improved with a well-created index.
When do you need an Index?
Any non-fiction book is a candidate for an index. It is important to find an outside source to create your index as they can approach the text from the viewpoint of a reader.
Why choose me to create your Index?
Using dedicated indexing software (Cindex), I can quickly and efficiently create a quality index that adds value to your book.
